Change is only successful when managed correctly

Research by Harvard Business School as well as the Ken Blanchard group, indicates that as much as 70% of change efforts fail. Change effort failure can range from action as subtle as a drop in performance or increased employee turnover, to a completely failed merger.

There are many guides and articles available to guide leaders in their change efforts, but none better than that provided by Dr. John Kotter. Dr. Steff had the privilege of working with Dr. Kotter some years ago while writing a thesis, and after working with several organizations as they struggle with change, Dr. Steff is a firm believer in Kotter’s 8-Step Organizational Change Process.

This podcast details these eight steps and gives examples of each step, ranging from departmental change to mergers and acquisitions.
